... home, Auguste Rodin's famous "The Thinker" statue, Napoleon's burial site, the Notre Dame cathedral, and an amazing bridge built for the World's Fair. It was an extraordinary tour through the city. After the tour, we had some time to go out on our own and explore the French capital. Most of the team made plans to rent a bicycle and ride it around the city, however the rental kiosk would not accept our American credit cards. Apparently the credit cards from the U.S. don't have a small chip that is located on the face of French cards. So myself, Raheem May-Thompson, and Kevin Tarca went out ... Read More »

Quinnipiac Men's Basketball In Europe: Day 5

... luck in Paris. Since it was our last day here in Ghent, Belgium, we packed the morning and early afternoon with some great sightseeing. We started the day off with a boat tour through the canals of Ghent. Like Brugge, the architecture is stunning. I heard more than once from other guys on the team that they felt like we were in a scene from the movies. It seemed truly unreal that we were in such a beautiful city. The canal tour took us down the main part of the city, under bridges, around the base of castle, and even took us literally through the branches and leaves of a tree emerging ... Read More »

... A lot of guys played well for us. Ike Azotam, Will Harrison, and Deontay Twyman were just a few of the many that played well for us tonight. What is really exciting is that we were able to get a convincing win, and it was our first game together, and still we have a lot of room to get better as a team. Before our game, we were able to get in a few last tourist sites before we head out for Belgium tomorrow morning. We started the day off by going to a Diamond Museum. We saw how diamonds were created, and why each different cut of diamond is priced the way they are. At the end of our trip to ... Read More »

... and even one of the homes of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Everyone here rides bikes. Our tour guide said there are over one million bikes in Amsterdam. They are really everywhere and those who are riding the bikes don't seem interested in stopping for pedestrians. I think everyone on the team, has had a close encounter with a bike or scooter so far. After our canal tour, we got on the bus and drove to the Anne Frank House. This was an especially intriguing landmark. We were in the actual house were Anne and her family hid for two years from the Nazis. As we walked through the ... Read More »
